Who We Are

Our story begins with two friends and avid mushroom hunters picking more than they could eat after each excursion. Not wanting any fungi to go to waste, they created a way to preserve and enjoy them long after the season was over. After years of playing with recipes, Funguise was born, and now we’re sharing our favorite snack with you!

We like to keep it both simple and transparent. With minimal ingredients that we source locally, we use only the freshest Shiitake mushrooms grown right here in the Pacific Northwest. Our marinade is slow brewed and cooked with our mushrooms before being sent to our low temperature dehydrators for finishing. Peppery, smoky, savory, slightly sweet and delicious, Funguise is a one of a kind jerky that your taste buds will never forget.
